Fun fun fun

So today we had our final exam in one of our three classes (the other two are tomorrow morning) and it was really hard, but I still finished early. I then went to go buy Reina a fan and I also went back to the leather store from earlier and HAD to get these... I mean when am I ever going to get the chance to get these again. The first one has bulls on it so I couldn't resist...very Spanish of me

the next one honestly may be the COOLEST purse I have EVER seen in my life.. I am SO glad I bought this..

It is a purse shaped like a saddle...HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!

I love leather!!

The past few days have been pretty basic-eating, sleeping, walking, and school. Today, we went shopping and I did not buy anything until I saw some beautiful black and white pictures of what looked like extremely nice warmblood horses. I went inside and it was heaven. There were saddles, beautiful bridles, belts, and wallets. I was very tempted to buy a bridle, but I decided I would rather spend money on custom riding boots if I ever find them. I did, however, buy a wallet!

Very cute!!!!

My mama just left... Great now we are back to living like cave people.

We have been enjoying all of our fun lunches and dinners and I am now glad the stupid gypsy stole my PDM.

Annoyed

I.am.so.annoyed. First of all, most of my pods were malfunctioning so I was running through a lot of insulin. THEN someone steals all of my diabetes stuff!!! What bees with itches! When those people look in my pretty pink and green paisley bag, I hope they realize that they could have just put me in a coma or killed me, and then they can go to hell. Now I have to use this extremely large syringe and I had to buy a crappy glucose meter.

This whole trip had been filled with unnecessary stress due to diabetes.

On the other hand, we went to the beach in Nerja yesterday and it was beautiful.

My bad

Sorry it has been a few days!! On Thursday, we took a bike ride in the park on these car-bike things. We then did nothing on Thursday night after class because we were so tired. Friday, we had class early at 9:00 am because at 4:00pm, we left to come to Granada. I am literally obsessed with it. It reminds me of San Miguel de Allende. I think it would be fun to rent a house here. Today we went and visited the Alhambra. It was so cool! Tomorrow we are going to Nerja, this beach, and then back to Sevilla. Here are some pictures. Adios!

We also met up with Caroline last night!! She is staying in Granada with LPI.

Wednesday!!!

So today we woke up at about 1:30 because of our crazy night last night, and tonight was another crazy night, but I'll get to that later. We had a free day all day today except for classes. We had another really great lunch of salad and beef and potatoes.

Then we went to class from 4-8. We then came home and at maybe the most delicious vegetable soup I've ever and some really good chicken.

We then went BACK to fundicion. Carlos is the best bar tender ever!! We even made some new local amigos

Hope everyone's summer is as good as mine!!!!!! Until next time!

Tuesday night

So today I woke up at like 9 and went to the hair place at 10. My hair has never looked so good.

We then ate a delicious lunch (rice, cheese, bread, and meatballs) and then we went to class, which of course was boring.

TONIGHT was SO fun however. I will show some pictures so you can get the gist. I LOVE SPAIN MORE THAN LIFE!!!!!

CARLOS!!! my new best friend.

Once again, this is the funnest trip of my life!!!!
We are now getting ready to go to bed. Hasta mañana

HOT

I never thought would say this, but I AM IN LOVE WITH SPAIN. I could never leave and be perfectly fine. It is like a giant party. Last night we met Taylor and her parents at their hotel. We went and got some ice cream!

I am currently having a hair crisis. I don't know what happened, but the back of my hair looks grandmaish (gray/white). I need to make an appointment ASAP.

Our host mother is the BEST cook. For dinner last night we had some meat and vegetables. For breakfast we had some cereal and toast, and for lunch we just had some beans with sausages and then some Spanish crocquetos. YUM!!!

Earlier today, we met our group in the square at 10:00 am. We then went on a tour of the cathedral. We walked to the top of the tower (35 flights...) and saw the view of the whole city.

We are about to go take a placement test at the school to see what classes we will be taking. Wish me luck!

All packed!

It's me again! Duh... So we are ALL unpacked! Katherine is uploading some pictures to Facebook and then we are going to go walk around a bit.

Taylor is in town!!! YAY! After we eat dinner tonight with our host mother at 9, we are going to catch a cab and meet Taylor and her mom at her hotel at 10!! We have to be back at 12 for curfew, but hopefully we will have some time to catch up!!! Since we have Internet at the house, I will be posting on my blog MUCHO! It's really easy to do on my iPad since I have a blogging app. I hope whoever is reading this (probably only patricia) enjoys!!!

We have arrived!!!

We have finally arrived to our final destination, Sevilla!! Our host mother is so cute and nice! We have Internet at the house but no AC, I am literally sweating my ASS off. Here is a picture of our room

Katherine and i are unpacking and then we are gonna go explore a little! This is so exciting! Our mom just gave us a fan in our room to cool us off a bit. Yay! Until later, bye!!!!

Toledo!!!

HOLA!! Today was SO fun!!! We woke up at about 8:30 and went to breakfast. Then we came back up to our room to get ready for the day. We met in the lobby at 10:30 and went to the bus to go tour Toledo. Although I've been before, it was still as pretty as ever. We got off at a spot on the highway to see the view of the whole city.

It is SUCH a pretty view!

The girls on the left are two really nice girls from Alabama, then there is Lauren, Katherine, and I, then two girls from San Francisco, and lastly there is Langley from Baton Rouge.

We then went on a walking tour of the city. It was tiring and hot, but fun. Katherine almost died. (not really but you get the point) After we visited some important places in the city, we had some free time. I bought these sunglasses

I really like them. I also bought a summery scarf and some vanilla lip balm. We then went to this fun bakery, where I bought an elephant ear ( a cookie covered in yummy chocolate) and some other pastries. Katherine and I are now best friends with Ms. Cepeda, our old Spanish teacher, who we love. She acts like she is our age and is hilarious. Katherine and I were gonna go tanning by the pool with everyone, but we decided we have had way too much sun for the day. We are now chilling in our hotel room until we will get ready for a night out on the town tonight before another LPI meeting. Yikes! Every meeting they scare us out of our minds by saying, "one drop of alcohol is enough to send you home." Oh well, you only live once!!

Embarrassing moment of the day: Katherine, Lauren, and I were in a jewelry store looking at some rings when I saw Cepeda and Ms. Berry outside. They did not see me, so I waved my arms and screamed HEY!!!!!!! Right as I did that, Nick, John, Jack, and Max walked by and thought I was screaming at them. They chuckled and then started talking to Cepeda and Berry. Oops!!

I will probably post again after tonight, but if not, BYE!

Friday, July 8, 2011

Ello! So today we went to el escotorial, which is a city/monastery/palace thing. Right now, I am currently sitting on a couch in the hallway outside my hotel room on the outskirts of Toledo. Katherine, Lauren, and I are deciding weather we shall stay in the hotel tonight or go out to Toledo. I personally want to go, but they want to stay in and go tomorrow night. The whole rest of the EHS possy already left to go to Toledo, not that we would go out with them anyways.

When we got to Toledo, which was about a 2 hour bus ride from el escotorial, we all went and tanned by the pool. Then we had to go to a mandatory meeting to discuss stuff about the trip. Now we are STILL deciding if we are going out or not. My feet are KILLING me because I have now added to the many blisters I already had from horseback riding/all the walking we've done here.

3 hours later...

So we just got back from dinner...we ended up eating at the hotel. The service was HORRIBLE, but the food was pretty good. I had a double bacon cheeseburger and a brownie for dessert.. Not very Spanish but the opportunity presented itself and I had to jump on it. Our curfew is in an hour at 11:30 so we are just still sitting in the hallway using the Internet. I will probably upload pictures to Facebook, take a shower, and then either watch one of the movies I rented or read a book. Here are some pictures from the day...

Hope y'all enjoyed! Hasta later!

wow I blog a lot...

Hey my peeps!!! So Katherine, Lauren, and I went out on the town tonight, ( well we had to be in our hotel rooms at 10:30 so for Spain it's more of a night on the late afternoon) we first went to a good restaurant and ate some really good seafood paella! We had these very interesting drinks though...apparently some sort of Spanish thing

And then we went to a bar for some more fun, but we had to be back to the hotel at 10:30, and it is STILL light outside!!!!

We are having a BLAST!!! We leave tomorrow for Toledo, so talk to y'all then!!! Hasta la vista BEBE!

First real day in Madrid!!

Our first real day in Madrid was actually really fun!! We got away from the girls who kept making us go to crappy restaurants or the "shitholes" as Katherine says. Some other girls from the group made me go to a Thai restaurant for lunch. I asked the waiter what his favorite dish was, and ordered it. It literally was chicken on a stick covered in an unknown sauce that was utterly disgusting. Katherine was forced by some other girls to go to a shitty bocadilleria (excuse the french) and ate what she says " i dont even know." For dinner last night I had a distrusting salad with unknown ingredients in it. I then had some scrambled eggs with shrimp. It was not at all what I thought I ordered. Katherine had a calamari bocadillo that was not up to par.

Thank heavens today was much better. We ditched the cheap ass girls ( excuse the French again) and went to a yummy bar. Katherine, Lauren, and I shared two yummy pasta dishes. We got some good drinks in ;) and went shopping. In the beginning of the day, we went to El Prado museum and then to the royal palace. Although I've been before, they were quite interesting.

We are now relaxing in our hotel room and will later get ready and go to dinner!!! Thursday night is the new Friday night! Adios!!!

We have arrived!

We have arrived in Madrid! We are staying at a pretty nice hotel... I wouldn't mind staying in the palace hotel ( I assume it's a cousin of the alvear palace in buenos aires) a few doors down but oh well! I am sitting in the lobby, which is the only place where you can get wireless. I have seen countless cute Spanish boys! Yippee! So far we walked with some of our new friends ( from Louisiana and California) to get lunch and then we walked to a cute little gelato place. It seems as if I am the only one on this trip who actually can converse in Spanish...what's new! I was born for this! Of course, all the EHS kids minus Katherine and I are staying in their little clique, but again what's new! EVERYONE here smokes! It's kinda gross but it seems as it is the "stylish" thing to do...not for me! Here is a picture of the lobby...

As you can tell from the hola bienvenido hello welcome sign on the front desk, this hotel is like a magnet for funny tourists! Now I can spend my next 3 1/2 hours of free time people watching! At 6 pm, we are supposed to go on a bus tour of some sort. Spain is calling! Hasta luego!
